Kindergarten and 1st graders have both been learning about the Engineering Design Process and the steps engineers follow when solving a problem. Kindergarten students built houses from either straw, sticks or bricks and then tested out how strong their house was by putting it in front of a strong fan (the Big Bad Wolf!)
1st grade has been studying how light and sound behaves, and they used this knowledge to build a tool that uses light and sound to communicate over a long distance. In this task, they collaborate, think critically, and get creative!
